The time has come. You’ve met a great guy or girl, and now it’s time for you both to go on your first date. The nerves are kicking in, and the desperate desire to not do anything stupid is ever present. Well, before you go on your first date, I’m sure you’ll be worrying about anything and everything. We’re going to try and settle those nerves a little, so here are five things you need to think about before you set off!
Have A Plan In Mind
There’s nothing more awkward than meeting up for a first date and having no idea what to do! You need to make sure you’ve got a plan in mind before you head out the door. It doesn’t matter what it is; you could go to a restaurant or simply go for a walk in the park. Make sure it’s somewhat romantic and gives you both a chance to talk.
Shower
I hope I don’t need to even tell you that you must shower before you head out! It doesn’t matter if you showered last night; do it again today. You need to make sure you are sparkly clean and smelling great. Failing to do this will often result in a failed date and no second chances. Spend as much as time as you need getting ready.
Dress For The Occasion
You want to dress as smartly as you can depending on the occasion. So, if you’re going to a fancy restaurant, you obviously want to stand out. If you’re going to the cinema, you can lay off on the posh outfits, but still carry yourself with a smart look. Basically, you just want to avoid turning up in dirty, scraggly clothes that aren’t going to make a good impression.
Brush Your Teeth!
The date’s going well, everything’s perfect, and then they lean in for the kiss. It’s at this moment that you realise you forgot to brush your teeth! Make sure you do this before you go off to your date. If the chance arises that your lips both lock, you want to make sure your breath is minty fresh. You don’t want anything sticking out of your teeth, either, so make sure you brush them thoroughly and floss if you need to!
Feel Confident
You might not be feeling too confident right now, but you’ve got to leave that shyness at the door! Hopefully, you learnt this when you were learning how to pick up women in the first place! For the next few hours, it’s time to convey as much confidence as possible so you can both have a great time. Shyness is cute to a point, but it quickly becomes annoying when you don’t say anything and act reserved. Both of you need to put in equal effort, so make sure you do this.
Above all; relax! A date is a great way to get to know each other and have a fun day/evening out! Be yourself, have a great time, and hopefully it’ll lead to a relationship down the line!
