Furnishing a home is about getting the furniture you like in the right places. This is where people enter the house, before being shown to the lounge or other rooms, and it’s where you want to make a nice impression. Furnishing a Hallway
The type of furniture you should put in your hallway depends upon the amount of space you have. We recommend that you start with a cheap hallway table as this can be a very useful item to have as you walk in the door. There are many different styles to choose from, and they tend to be surprisingly inexpensive, and a nice small hallway table is a great place for people to place their keys, hat, and other items they may want to leave at the door. Some are also very stylish indeed, so have a look around and see what you can find.
We mentioned hats, and if you’re a hat-wearing family, you might also want to buy a hat stand. Traditional wooden hat stands are quite a stylish item, and they don’t take up a great deal of room, so you can fill an unused corner and it will be the perfect place for people to leave hats and, with some items, also umbrellas.
Practical and Stylish
It is often the case that family and visitors leave their shoes in the hallway, and among the most innovative items in hallway furniture are some very stylish shoe racks and cupboards that can be extremely useful. Giving people a place to store shoes when not in use means they are kept out of the way of others – and off the floor – and can easily be found when the wearer comes to leave!
You might also want to provide a seat of some sort for people to rest on while they take off their shoes and coat – there are some rather nice small hallway benches that are worth checking out, and that look great in both modern and traditional hallways – as this makes a nice welcoming impression for visitors.
