These Tips will Help you to Plan the Ultimate Stag Do

If you have never been in charge of planning a stag do before, then you might not know how out of hand the whole thing can get. That’s why you need to plan a fun event while also maintaining control of the situation, as this is the only way you will be able to end up really making it a night, or even a weekend to remember.

Control the Numbers

It can be tempting to let everyone know about your plans and to also get as many people involved as possible. If you do though then you may end up making the whole event far too much and sometimes you may even end up going over budget as well. Big stag dos complicate everything, and they also have a tendency to get cliquey too. 70% of people prefer to go abroad when booking a stag do and this is great, but keep the number around 10-12 and then invite anyone who didn’t get to come to an event held in your home town afterwards. You can even go axe throwing if you want to spice things up a bit!

Notice

Stag parties often involve booking a lot of time off work. You may also find that they are expensive too. If possible, you need to give your friends around 3 months’ notice. You also need to be very flexible on dates, especially around summer. This is because places can be booked up and sometimes you may even find that people have holidays already.

Budget

If you want to make sure that as many people come to your event as possible then you won’t want to set the price too high. Settle on a rough budget that you know everyone can afford and then stick to it. If you don’t then you may end up stopping other people from having a good time and this is the last thing you want.

Pick a Destination

When you have your date and also your target budget, you then need to try and settle on a location. If you know that you are staying in the UK, then try and choose a popular city such as London or even Manchester. That way you’ll have plenty to do but you don’t have to worry about transport or travel too much.

Accommodation

Always make sure that you don’t waste too much money on accommodation. You just need to have a clean and basic hotel room. After all, you probably won’t be spending too much time there. It’s also important that you book early and that you all book together as well. If you rely on everyone to book their arrangements individually then you will end up with someone being stranded at the wrong side of town. It also helps to book somewhere that is close to the city centre, so that when you arrive, you are never going to be too far away from the hotel.

Competitive

If you know that your friends love a bit of competition, then try and embrace this. Focus on anything that splits everyone into teams or even plan some kind of race. White water rafting or even mountain climbing can all be done in good fun and sometimes you don’t need any experience in order to get started. Of course, if you are planning more than one day then you do want to make sure that you don’t exhaust everyone because if you do then you may find that they are not up to anything the next morning. At the end of the day, you know your friends more than anyone so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to get a good idea of their limits.

Appoint a Banker

If you are the best man and you are planning the stag do, then there’s a high chance that you have more than enough to handle. If you want to make things way easier on yourself then it helps to delegate your banking duties. Put someone else in charge of collecting money and put it all in a single bank account. When you have done this, you can then focus on booking the events in one go. This is great because it may mean that you end up saving money and that you also won’t have to worry about how you are going to collect everyone’s deposit in time. If your friends are notorious for procrastinating, then let it be clear that you have a deadline, and if people don’t pay in time then they won’t be able to attend.
