Born in Derbyshire in 1941 Vivienne Swire became Vivienne Westwood when she met her first husband Derek Westwood in 1962 got married to him.
She shot to fame in the 1970s when with rock star Malcolm McLaren, she opened a shop in London that became the focus of the punk rock movement. Over the imntervening years Vivienne Westwood has gone on to become one of the most original and influential designers of our time. Her Logo, a royal ORB with a cross on the top, is most befitting for the Queen of British fashion.
