The brand inspired by surfers and born on the beach brings old-time California to life in the Spring ’12 men’s line. With canvas sneakers, flip flops and high tops in the line, UGG provide men with a versatile and colourful selection to carry them through the season.
“Clean, classic and sophisticated style that goes from the beach to the barbeque or the office to the bar is what we’ve created for UGG men this season,” said Vice President of Product Leah Larson. “We studied the California fashion in the late 40s and have made modern updates to shoes, bags and some great outerwear that recalls the bygone days and celebrates the optimism of the California spirit.”
The perfect causal to welcome Spring, the Eastsound Collection was inspired by classic sneakers. Slip-on and lace-up shoes feature canvas in grizzly and metal colour ways, as well as rich burnished leather in chestnut and sand. The lightweight white outsole and cotton stripe canvas lining gives the styles a vintage beach-side feel. Also in canvas for the season are the popular Vanowen and the Brockman from the Sneaker Collection . The Beach Flip Flop Collection is a warm-weather essential and brings to life the UGG ethos of casual cool. Rubber and leather thong options are offered in a new paint splatter and gradient prints.
It’s not always possible to spend the day at the beach. For the intrepid urbanite, UGG offers The Bowery Collection, hip, masculine high tops and slick sneakers with an unusual brush-off effect that creates a two tone colour, available in chestnut, pewter and a striking green. For a dressier look, the Desert Boot Collection offers the essential crepe oxford, laceless slip-on wingtip and chukka boots. New to the collection, the Cantel is a great spring saddle with an ‘eraser head’ coloured outsole.
The Vintage Military Collection features oversized wash canvas bags, including a tote, backpack and lunch box. Offered in army green and washed black, these masculine bags add rugged nonchalance together with great function. The Aidan Collection has added a navy colour-way to the spring line of waxed canvas bags.
Two outerwear collections will be available for men this spring. The Weather Collection features water-resistant waxed cotton in a double breasted trench, and zip up hooded jacket. The Equestrian Collection offers two supple goat suede bomber jackets, a perfect blend of masculine styling with superior materials for those chilly spring and summer evenings
