Stone Island are renowned for being at the forefront of mens fashion in terms of their experimentation with fabrics and their dye expertise. The eagerly anticipated ‘Ghost Ventile Jacket‘ from the Spring/Summer 2012 Collection is their latest must-have piece of outerwear.
The Ghost pieces are totally monochromatic pieces of clothing utilising the concept of camouflage. Even the Stone Island badges have been especially created in mono-colour versions to blend in with the muted colour of the garment.
The high density Ventile® fabric made from 100% cotton long staple fibre is a very innovative material to use. Although it is uncoated and non-laminated, the high density weave combine with the swelling properties of the material when wet, providing a weatherproof barrier to the elements. As well as being very comfortable the fibre is water repellant, water resistant and breathable. Originally created during wartime, it is still used by NATO pilots and the likes of the British Antarctic Survey team.
